Account Registration

To open an account with Fidelity, you must meet the following requirements and agree to our terms:

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age to open an account. For custodial accounts, a parent or guardian must be the account custodian.

Identity Verification

Provide accurate and complete personal information including a valid government-issued ID for identity verification.

Agreement to Terms

Agree to our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and all applicable rules and regulations governing your account.

Account Security

Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activities conducted under your account.

Trading Rules

All trading activities on our platform are subject to the following rules and guidelines:

Market Hours

  • Standard trading: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM EST
  • Pre-market: 4:00 AM - 9:30 AM EST
  • After-hours: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM EST
  • Extended hours available for eligible accounts

Order Types

  • Market orders - execute at current price
  • Limit orders - set maximum/minimum price
  • Stop orders - trigger at specified price
  • Stop-limit orders - combine stop and limit

Minimum Requirements

  • No minimum deposit for brokerage accounts
  • Pattern day trader: $25,000 minimum
  • Options trading: approval required
  • Margin accounts: $2,000 minimum

Restrictions

  • No short selling in IRA accounts
  • Free riding violations may result in restrictions
  • Good faith violations are monitored
  • Day trading limits apply

Account Restrictions

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts in the following cases:

Suspicious Activity

Unusual trading patterns, potential money laundering, or fraudulent activity will trigger investigation and may result in account restrictions.

Policy Violations

Violation of our Terms of Service, trading rules, or any applicable regulations may lead to account restrictions or termination.

Legal Requirements

We may be required to restrict accounts to comply with legal, regulatory, or court orders.

Insufficient Funds

Accounts with insufficient funds to meet outstanding obligations, including margin calls, may be restricted.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from your use of our services shall be resolved through the following process:

Customer Support

Contact our customer support team to resolve the issue. Most disputes are resolved at this stage.

Compliance Escalation

If not resolved, the issue will be escalated to our compliance department for review.

Arbitration

Unresolved disputes will be submitted to arbitration in accordance with FINRA rules.

Court Proceedings

As a last resort, disputes may be resolved through court proceedings in the appropriate jurisdiction.
